ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets and schedules, coordinating staff assignments as authorized by the Engineering Group Manager
- Sign and stamp design drawings or reports for work supervised
- Mentor junior staff
- Develop Proposals
- Business development
- Responsible for successful completion of assigned projects
- Assigns task(s) to other engineers or technicians
- Meets/corresponds with clients to obtain direction and provide feedback
- Communicates with Project Manager or Engineering Group Manager regarding job process, status, difficulties, and administrative issues
- Prepares design concepts and develops project plans and specifications
- Conducts design analysis for projects as required
- Conducts site visits/field investigations as required
- Oversees preparation of design documents
- Use computer programs and spread sheets for engineering analysis and presentations
- Edit word-processing documents and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving and transferring data Maintain project files, according to company document retention guidelines
- May not change scope of work without approval of Project Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Engineering concepts, theories, and practices for the area of technical specialty
Required Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required from an accredited university
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
PREFERRED:
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is desired from an accredited university
LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Registered PE (professional engineer) in that state of the home or branch office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must regularly lift/ move up to 25 pounds and infrequently lift/ move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to walk several miles in extreme weather conditions
- Stand, walk, use of hand finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Reach with hands and arms
- Talk and hear
- Sit, climb/ balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly works in varying outside weather conditions where noise levels can be loud
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes and airborne particles and airborne particles
