Title: Café Concessions Team Member
Supervisor: Operations Manager
Status: Hourly position
General Function:
Position is responsible for all operational elements of food and beverage service.
Responsibilities and Principal Activities: In harmony with the Mission, Established Policies, Strategic Objectives and Goals of the Sawmill Sports Hub, the Concessions Worker is responsible for providing fast and friendly food and beverage service to all guests. This role includes preparing and serving food items, handling transactions, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, such as during sporting events, tournaments, and other special events.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate concession stand equipment according to safety and hygiene guidelines.
Greet and serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
Prepare and package food items.
Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash and credit cards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including counters, cooking areas, and customer service areas.
Restock inventory, including food, drinks, utensils, and condiments, throughout the shift as needed.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Assist in cleaning and closing the concession stand at the end of each shift, following proper closing procedures.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or special requests in a polite and professional manner, escalating issues to the Concessions Manager when necessary.
Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operation during busy periods.
Housekeeping:
Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety;
Checking stock levels and ordering supplies;
Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required;
Helping in any other area of the facility when circumstances dictate.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in food service, concessions, or a customer service role is a plus.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of customers during events.
Basic math skills for handling cash and credit card transactions.
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs.
Comfortable working in a busy, noisy environment with large crowds.
