Caltrol is Hiring an Application Engineer (Senior Estimator). The candidate may live in Irvine, CA, or Chandler, AZ. The ideal candidate will have working experience with Emerson DeltaV You will gather information, prepare quotes, enter and expedite orders, and proactively follow up with our customers across Caltrol's California and Arizona territory. You will also receive ongoing mentoring and training to better understand our products and pricing. What you'll be doing: * Design, prepare, and oversee technical and commercial solutions to best meet each of our customer's expectations. * Oversee quality control for existing and new products. * Make recommendations for product designs to meet customers' needs. * Review customer design documents to ensure proper documentation is submitted effectively and clearly communicates our customers' requirements. * Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in accordance with Caltrol's Think Customer guidelines. * Interact with customers to provide solutions utilizing the products Caltrol offers. * Maintain relationships with principles and suppliers to provide the customer with the best possible overall Caltrol experience. * Support internal customers (Account Managers, Order Management, Accounting, Shop, and Inventory) to efficiently process customer orders. * Quote follow-up with the ability to effectively close sales. This may include some negotiations regarding price and/or timeframes without management involvement. * Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Account Managers, and Business Unit Leaders in defining scope and sales strategies. * Manage all pre-sales documents and acknowledgment of purchase orders. What we are looking for: * College degree and/or 5 years of experience in process controls * Knowledge of computer-based engineering software (ideally, Emerson DeltaV ) * Extensive knowledge of Process Control fundamentals * Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills * Team attitude and willingness to coordinate projects internally * Ability to handle special assignments and schedule demanding workloads to meet customer deadlines * Willingness to travel to customer sites on occasion and when needed * Willingness to work overtime as the situation requires * Ability to work well under pressure. At times, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines Skills Desired: * Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering * Engineering Experience within process industries * Familiarity with ERP business systems. * Knowledge of Emerson Process Management products and services * Familiar with factory product documentation including but not limited to, Price books, Sales Administration Manual, Order Entry Documents, engineering catalogs, product service sheets, bulletins and IOMs * Mentoring abilities Physical Demands: This job will require significant amounts of sitting. A standing desk may be available if accommodations are required. This job requires the use of a computer and a telephone. This job is performed in a typical office setting; employee sits in an open cubicle, and as such, noise levels rise to that of other employees speaking with each other. Travel: Less than 20% of the job involves travel; most travel will occur within the Caltrol territory, including local, AZ, CA, NV, and HI to customer sites. Occasional/periodic overnights for training and company events.
