Position Overview: The Calvary Kids’ Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ministry to children from birth through 6th grade. This role includes creating a welcoming, safe, and spiritually enriching environment for children and their families and other duties as assigned by supervisor. The Director will lead and equip a team of staff and volunteers to disciple children, teach biblical truths, and instill a lifelong love for Jesus Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Vision:
Develop and implement a Christ-centered vision for the children’s ministry that aligns with the church’s mission.
Cultivate a joyful culture that prioritizes children’s spiritual growth and well-being.
Serve as a spiritual leader and role model for children, families, and ministry volunteers
Regularly communicate with CCA to ensure efficiency and unity in the usage of all Kids space.
Biblical Teaching and Spiritual Formation:
Oversee the development and implementation of biblically sound curriculum for all age groups (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Plan and lead engaging and age-appropriate lessons, activities, and worship experiences that point children to Christ (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
Provide counseling and support for families seeking biblical counseling for their children
Work with the CCA Pastor to develop and lead school chapel services.
Volunteer Recruitment and Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor a team of dedicated volunteers to serve in the children’s ministry (1 Peter 4:10 )
Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and spiritual guidance for volunteers.
Equip volunteers to effectively teach and disciple children, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and servant leadership (Ephesians 4:11-12)
Family Engagement:
Partner with parents and guardians to equip them as the primary spiritual leaders of their children (Proverbs 1:8-9)
Communicate regularly with families, providing resources, encouragement, and updates on ministry activities.
Plan family-oriented events that foster community and spiritual growth.
Safety and Operational Oversight:
Ensure all policies and procedures are in place to provide a safe and secure environment for children.
Maintain compliance with child protection policies, including volunteer background checks and training.
Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of children’s ministry facilities and resources.
Develop and manage Kids Ministry budget.
Manage overall daily logistics of the Kids Ministry. (Proverbs 16:3)
Events and Outreach:
Plan and lead special events such as Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, and community outreach events (Matthew 28:19-20).
Collaborate with other church ministries to create opportunities for children and families to serve together.
Qualifications:
Calvary Chapel Melbourne Melbourne’s Campus must be your home church with regular attendance to weekend and Wednesday services.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in children’s ministry leadership.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for discipling children and equipping families to grow in their faith.
