The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. NCTCOG’s purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions. The Department of Environment and Development is seeking experienced professionals to join its team as an Environment & Development Planner I. Successful applicants will work under the general direction of the Senior Environment and Development Planner to pursue a variety of goals to achieve sustainable environmental excellence in this region. Assignments may include a variety of topics, including but not limited to, solid waste management; water resources planning for stormwater quality and quantity; public works coordination; and urban and land-use planning and development related efforts that promote quality of life improvement. The purpose of this position is to assist and participate in team efforts with more senior professional staff in the completion of projects and assignments related to the Department of Environment & Development. This will be accomplished through activities including, but not limited to:
