    ABOUT THE CAMPUS PASTOR POSITION

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee campus services, including greeting guests and regular attenders by being a prominent public figure, helping to make a connection to the local church.
    • Ensure all aspects of campus services align with the DNA and vision of PLC as well as the simple church philosophy.
    • Partner with ministry leaders to ensure curriculum, vision, policies, and expectations meet the needs of the church as a whole.
    • Conduct weddings and funeral services; perform baptism and child dedications.
    • Develop, shepherd, and lead volunteer and paid staff.
    • Develop, shepherd, and lead the campus congregation.
    • Participate in the hiring of paid staff at campus location.
    • Initiate and build community relations in local community.
    • Administer the campus budget.
    • Lead Bible Studies and classes live at the Decorah Campus.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Coach, develop, and encourage both paid and unpaid staff at specific campus.

    Qualifications:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Successful candidate must be a Christian and fully support the philosophy of Prairie Lakes Church and its leadership team.
    • The individual’s commitment to Christ will be evidenced in his/her personal life, family relationships and ministry. The candidate’s daily walk with God will be an example to all.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Graduate degree in Theology, or willingness to enroll in Graduate program required.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
    • Proven track record in a leadership and/or pastoral role required.

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Possess strong relational and listening skills with ability to develop effective personal connections.
    • Be effective at shepherding and team building, with the ability to lead with a spirit of discernment.
    • Be able to understand and support PLC’s unique vision and effectively apply established systems and processes to guide self and others toward the realization of the vision.
