Responsibilities: • As a Kennel Technician at Kim's K-9 in Grand Rapids, MI, you will spend your day supervising a lively group of off-leash dogs of various sizes on the play floor. • Your responsibilities will include teaching dogs manners, engaging them in enrichment activities, managing their needs, feeding them, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the day. • You will receive training to administer food and medication to dogs staying overnight for boarding. • Bathing dogs before they go home will also be part of your duties as a Kennel Technician. • You will undergo extensive education on dog body language and non-verbal communication to understand group dynamics and prevent conflicts effectively. • Using proven tools and techniques, you will work on eliminating behaviors like jumping, door dashing, and avoidance. • Kennel Technicians must be capable of performing physical tasks, such as lifting, pushing, and pulling, while effectively managing groups of dogs. Qualifications: • Be enthusiastic about working in a place where clients and colleagues develop friendly bonds • Have the ability to schedule classes and social life around a consistent work schedule • Over 18 (position not available for minors at this time) • Not hesitant to connect with both animals and humans • Not have any restrictions on physical strength or ability • Possess a driver's license and have personal access to a vehicle • Be prepared and able to work most weekends and holidays throughout the year • Have the physical and emotional capabilities to thrive in an active and noisy environment • Grasp that a day in this job involves more than merely interacting with dogs Compensation: $14.50 - $15 hourly
