Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer, React at Capillary you will help us build the foundations that will power the next generation of digital applications and online services. Capillary has helped to accelerate many of the world’s most innovative companies by using our team of experienced developers, designers, strategists, and data scientists to craft applications and services that drive meaningful experiences between our clients and their customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop software capabilities to meet our clients requirements.
• Work with the Product Owner to estimate and scope software tasks.
• Collaborating with other disciplines to solve client’s business and/or technical problems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 1-2 years of experience working in React Native and mobile application development
• 3-7 of experience working in modern responsive front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, or other), NodeJS, or related technologies.
• Proficient knowledge in computer science, software engineering, and front-end application architecture
• Proficient knowledge in debugging and troubleshooting software.
• Effective in pair programming.
• Clear communication on progress and/or blockers.
• Excellent understanding of how other disciplines work and function in the software development process.
• Interpersonal skills to influence others around them towards company / project goals.
• Strong cross organizational collaborative signals.

Recommended Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in developing Typescript based Javascript applications.
• Server-side frameworks such as Next, Nuxt, or other.
• Experience writing effective tests for the front end.
• Tech debt management / mitigation strategies,
• Familiarity with WCAG compliance standards.
• Solid CSS fundamentals,
• Experience / knowledge of CSS methodologies such as BEM, CUBE, or other.
• Grasp of markup semantics and its impact on accessibility and SEO.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a closely related field and at least eight years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

• No travel expected with this position.
