    Job Description/Justification:

    Position Overview:

    Our organization seeks a bilingual (English/Spanish) Career Coach focused on enabling disadvantaged New York City residents to successfully obtain employment. The candidate will provide crucial support in the tactical aspects of the job search process, including resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, navigating job search platforms, while addressing soft skills capabilities. This role is pivotal in helping participants overcome barriers to employment and secure positions that offer stability and the potential for growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide one-on-one coaching to participants, primarily focusing on resume development, cover letter writing, online profile development, and effective job search strategies.
    • Assist participants in creating and optimizing LinkedIn profiles and using online and offline job search resources.
    • Partner with lead coach to develop curriculum, course and workshop content, and logistics planning.
    • Lead workshops and training sessions in both Spanish and English, aimed at enhancing job application, interview skills, building confidence, and other “soft skills” topics.
    • Work closely with participants to identify immediate employment and connect them with community resources where it is feasible to address these needs.
    • Build and maintain relationships with community resources such as Dress for Success, Workforce Development, faith-based organizations, and other organizations to facilitate job placement and supportive services.
    • Maintain detailed records of participant progress and outcomes, ensuring data-driven adjustments to improve program effectiveness.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal) – essential for effectively supporting our bilingual participants.
    • At least three years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on job coaching, employment services, or workforce development for diverse and disadvantaged populations.
    • Excellent coaching and motivational skills.
    • Demonstrated ability in resume writing, interview preparation, online profile development, and job search tactics.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and building trust with participants.
    • Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to inclusivity.
    • Experience in developing curriculums and conducting educational workshops and comfortable presenting to groups.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with job search engines and LinkedIn.
    • Detail-oriented with an ability to track participant progress and measure outcomes.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to connect participants with appropriate resources
