    We are exclusively working with a hospital in Southern CA for their search for a  Director of Risk management.   This position does not require you to have past experience as an RN, all relevant experience welcomed!  

    This health system is comprised of five acute care hospitals — and several non-hospital access points.

    The 140-bed, five-story hospital in a beautiful part of Southern California is defining a new era in healthcare with its advanced technology and patient-focused care. With more than 350 affiliated physicians, 900 employees, and 170 volunteers, this hospital offers the community a comprehensive range of services similar to hospitals in large metropolitan areas.

    The hospital offers major specialty services, including open heart surgery and neuroscience services. Also a designated STEMI Receiving Center and Stroke Ready Hospital by the Emergency Medical Services Agency. The Joint Commission has also designated the hospital as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.

    Job Opportunity:

    The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of various patient safety and risk management activities. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to: performance and oversight of the claim management functions including investigation and analysis, performance of risk assessments including new services, performance of root cause analysis for the system including action plan tracking and facilitation, and management of the Patient Safety Council with incorporation of the corporate TERM program into the overall risk management program. Works collaboratively with department directors and the executive team to implement Corporate and Facility risk reduction strategies. Provides expertise to regulatory and compliance standards and processes. Position entails data analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership and being accountable for related activities.

    Experience:  

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required
    • Master's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred
    • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Risk Management required
    • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in related field required, acute care experience preferred

      Certifications and Licenses:

      • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.
