The Digital Marketing Communications Specialist supports North American sales and marketing initiatives by helping to plan, create, and execute digital and online marketing communications activities and campaigns in support of business goals. Tactics managed by this individual include email marketing, paid search, webpage and landing page development, social media, and management of marketing automation technology. In this role, the specialist recommends digital marketing opportunities in support of business goals based on an understanding of external trends and how they can meet product/customer needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for executing regional email marketing activities in close alignment with the product marketing team. These can be event invitations, follow-ups or registration emails for trade shows and workshops or multi-tiered email campaigns to promote products in areas where the local sales funnel needs focus.
- In collaboration with global headquarters, support and execute the sending of newsletters and nurture campaigns to register customers by segment to ensure consistent and continuous customer communication
- Responsible for building and administrating the content needed along with the campaigns, e.g. landing pages, emails
- Supporting local country website needs, local content and promotions on websites. This is closely aligned with the global webmaster.
- Oversees regional database development, grows number of leads and increases number of segmented and registered customers
- Drive integrated Digital Marketing Campaigns involving tools such as Google AdWords, SEO, SEM, Online Advertisement and remarketing
- Collaborates with global online marketing team to ensure sharing of best practices, templates and agree on activities for data clean up
- Support in maintaining and managing the global marketing inbox
- Responsible for the analysis of the impact of campaigns, mailings and newsletters and the measurement of the impact of leads handed to sales as revenue
- Contributes to the marketing PowerBI performance tracking
- Support and updates product listing on third-party channels
- Support, on a case-by-case base, other marketing activities to get exposure to customers and the sales team (e.g. support for trade shows, events)
- Responsible for customer contact data completeness and accuracy within Marketing Software platforms
- Prioritize and track direct sales/service requests for support (creation of flyers, emails, webpages etc)
- Actively works towards efficiency focus on cost reduction, coordinates with sister ZEISS companies (e.g, booth space sharing, to include digital space, cross charging of costs, booth properties, and other joint mktg activities)
- Position will primarily focus on initiatives supporting opportunity generation in Biotech Pharma and OEM/VAR
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
- Experience in the following areas:
- 3-5 years of managing digital marketing channels, email marketing, and with website management/development
- B2B marketing, preferably in technology industries
- Inbound and outbound marketing tools including marketing automation technologies (Marketo, Hubspot, Eloqua or similar)
- Management of digital campaigns involving SEO, Google Adwords and Online Social Media channels
- Lead management, qualification, nurturing, and marketing automation
- Marketing database and list management
- Understanding of SEO and SEM best practices
- Demonstrated ability with HTML and CSS, Adobe CC, Google Analytics, SEO and SEM, website development tools
- Ability to create content with clear messages and along the ZEISS brand guidelines
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
WORKING CONDITIONS AND SPECIAL DEMANDS: __
- Occasional (up to 10-15%) travel including weekends may be required based on business need.
