    To strengthen our Team in the in the Eye Care Provider Division, we are seeking a Territory Sales Representative for our Northwest territory. Under general direction from the Regional Business Development Manager, the Territory Sales Representative (TSR) is responsible for the generation of new business to business sales across the DTI portfolio, directly to Eye Care Professionals and working alongside the Business Development Representative to identify and develop new business opportunities and effectively prospects and qualifies potential customers through appointment setting and cold calls. The TSR commits to an annual sales plan, writes specific objectives and forecasts orders and expected revenue on a monthly basis. The TSR must develop excellent product knowledge and an awareness of market conditions. This individual must report on his/her activities on a regular basis and must represent the company in keeping with the highest standards of business ethics and professionalism.

    Must live within territory – ideally located near a major airport in: Washington, Nevada, or Utah.

    Sales:

    • Meet or exceed sales goals as established in sales plan in assigned territory
    • Prospects and qualifies potential customers through appointment setting and cold calls
    • Strong sales focus with the ability to move key opportunities through the sales cycle, providing detailed and accurate sales forecasts using the company's CRM tool
    • Work with sales team to develop current and new targeted customers
    • Provide technical product information and procedure expertise to customers
    • Initiate focused programs and services to increase sales and market share for specific products
    • Communicate with customers in a clear and effective manner
    • Build internal and external relationships; establish credibility and rapport with customers
    • Organize and schedule tasks, develop realistic goals and action plans to drive sales
    • Attend various events, e.g. Trade shows, etc. to generate new business opportunities

    Training:

    • Deal with unexpected situations or events, frequent changes, or delays

    • Performs training and troubleshooting at client sites

    • Proactively troubleshoots hardware and/or software problems

    • Provides in person, telephone, or web-based product demonstrations as requested by clients and/or sales force

    • Provides weekly reports of all training, troubleshooting and installation activities

    • Provides detailed feedback and observation regarding product performance and usability

    • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong working knowledge of Carl Zeiss Vision products, services and training materials

    • Stays up to date on competitor products and activities

    • May perform other duties as assigned

    • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

    • Minimum 1-year experience in optical or capital equipment sales

    • High level of ophthalmic equipment product knowledge preferred

    • Effective consultative, conceptual and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to establish influential relationship with customers

    • General understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology of the eye

    • Working knowledge of refractometry preferred

    • Sales, medical, ophthalmic or industry related training experience preferred

    • Develop expertise in product application and practice management implications

    • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills

    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently

    • Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid motor vehicle license

    • Ability to thrive in a competitive environment

    • Must be able to travel at least 80% of the time and occasionally work weekends

    • Ability to work independently and perform with little or no supervision

    • Basic computer/instrumentation networking preferred

    • Experience in a vision care setting preferred

    The annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000. This position is eligible for an uncapped sales commission plan.

    The salary offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
