    Position Summary:

    The Carpenter/Foreman is a dual-role position responsible for performing skilled carpentry work while leading and supervising a team of carpenters and laborers on construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry, a strong understanding of construction practices, and proven leadership abilities. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carpentry Work:

    • Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including framing, installing doors and windows, cabinetry, trim work, drywall, and other finishing work.
    • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete carpentry projects with precision and efficiency.
    • Ensure that all carpentry work meets Rivers Edge Construction's quality standards and complies with local building codes and safety regulations.

    Supervision and Leadership:

    • Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate daily work activities, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support to team members.
    • Monitor progress, inspect work for quality, and provide constructive feedback to improve team performance.

    Project Management:

    • Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines, ensuring that resources and materials are available when needed.
    • Communicate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any issues or concerns.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including timesheets, material usage, and project logs.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on the job site.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
    • Address any safety concerns or violations promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
    Qualifications:

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
    • Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
    • Proven experience managing construction projects from start to finish.

    Skills:

    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    Certifications:

    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (preferred).
    • Carpentry trade certification or equivalent (preferred).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
    • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
    • Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
