We have an entry-level position available for a person with interest and basic skills in woodworking to build shipping crates for our doors. Ultimately, you’ll help us send out the beautiful, high-quality doors that we proudly offer to architects and designers across the country.

About the Position:
The Shipping Carpenter plays a vital role in ensuring that RealCraft’s high-quality, handcrafted doors arrive safely to customers across the country. As the final quality checkpoint, this position is responsible for custom-building wood crates, performing final inspections, and coordinating with the team to ensure every shipment meets our standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Crate Construction & Shipping
· Build custom wood crates tailored to each door shipment using power saws, nail guns, and other woodworking tools.
· Ensure structural integrity and durability of crates to withstand transportation.
· Maintain accurate shipment documentation and report any discrepancies to management.
Quality Control & Final Inspection
· Conduct a thorough final inspection of each product before shipment to ensure it meets quality standards.
· Identify and report any defects, damage, or inconsistencies before crating.
· Work closely with sales and shop teams to verify order accuracy.
Team Collaboration & Support
· Communicate with sales, production, and shipping teams.
· Assist with applying wood finishing products on completed doors when needed.
· Support other warehouse and production tasks as assigned.
Other Duties
· Support production and shop team members as needed.
· Assist in process improvements and workflow optimization for the finishing department.
· Serve as a backup for vendor pickups to ensure consistent supply chain operations.
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Experience & Qualifications:
· Experience with hand tools and woodworking equipment (e.g., nail guns, table saws, chop saws, staple guns).
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise measurements.
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
· Ability to solve problems and take initiative in a fast-paced setting.
· Valid Driver’s License
This full-time position is at our campus in beautiful Gig Harbor, Washington. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM M-Th, 6:30 AM-1:00 PM Fri.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, and stand or walk for extended periods. This position requires physical stamina, including lifting heavy materials, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
