This role involves supervising a carpentry shop, assigning tasks to carpenters, and overseeing the construction and installation of complex wood forms for precast concrete production. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in carpentry, and the ability to manage workflow efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications and determine required formwork.
- Calculate dimensions and create sketches for formwork construction.
- Assign tasks to carpenters and mold builders.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials using table saws, radial saws, and other equipment.
- Assemble and install formwork in designated areas.
- Repair, modify, and clean reusable formwork for future use.
- Maintain and repair carpentry shop equipment as needed.
- Construct advanced formwork for specialized projects (e.g., curbs, arched panels).
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Complete and submit timesheets for the carpentry shop.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience in carpentry, particularly in building and installing formwork.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Proficiency in using woodworking tools and equipment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in an industrial setting with exposure to heavy materials and equipment.
