  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Work closely with the Carrier Development Manager and operations team to help develop and grow our carrier base

    • Analyze market trends and carrier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement

    • Lead efforts to convert spot-market carriers into long-term contractual partners

    • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to align carrier strategies with customer needs

    • Building long term partnerships with all modes including but not limited to, truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, expedited equipment and air to support our three objects of meaningful relationships, competitive rates and risk mitigation

    • Deep understanding of TA Services’ Managed Transportation services and able to demonstrate the value of being a partner carrier to TA Services as a preferred 3PL partner

    • Knowledgeable regarding TA Services’ carrier onboarding process and procedures including but not limited to carrier contracts, carrier settlement processes, systems integration and operations execution

    • A mindset and a focus on customer value creation; we require a person who can understand, develop and manage superior business conditions for our carriers that will result in maximum value delivery to our Managed customers

    • Other duties as required and assigned

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers
    • Analytical skills. We require a person who can analyze rates and show the impact of their decisions, quantitatively
    • Excellent planning, organizational and presentation skills
    • Quality driven and results oriented
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Strong understanding of freight market dynamics and trends

    Experience/Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree; Minimum of two (2) years of directly related TL capacity development and carrier management experience, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Flatbed procurement experience required
    • Experience in a 3PL environment preferred
    • Experience with McLeod and Mercury Gate TMS preferred
    • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
    • Experience with cross-border freight processes preferred but not required
