The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of supervision, support and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent clients, who may have co-occurring disorders and/or involvement within the criminal justice system. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: • Orient participants to the available services, detailing program objectives and providing ongoing support and educational materials. • Engage participants through Evidence-Based Practices, including Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. • Deliver high-quality Telehealth and in-person individual and group sessions. • Document progress and engage continuously with participants to support their recovery goals. • Implement person-centered counseling, including crisis intervention, individual sessions, group support, and case management. • Facilitate psychoeducation regarding the use of Medication Assisted Treatment and maintain care continuity. • Promote adaptive coping and problem-solving skills through alternative solutions and enhanced decision-making abilities. • Educate participants on addiction and its impacts, tailoring interventions to individual needs. • Maintain liaison with external agencies for additional services or referrals. • Manage and report toxicology testing processes to ensure clarity and compliance. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Must have OASAS certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC or CASAC-T). • Proficiency in both Google and Microsoft Suite. • Experience with DHS and EHR preferred. • Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred, however, not necessary. Compensation: $40,000 - $58,000
