    Vertex LLC is Hiring: CASAC/CASAC-T Counselor Location: 8931 161st Suite 606 Jamaica NY 11432 Vertex is seeking a qualified candidate for the Full Time Primary Substance Abuse Counselor position in our Outpatient Programs located in Brooklyn, Queens and Bronx. The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of supervision, support and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent clients, who may have co-occurring disorders and/or involvement within the criminal justice system. Job Description: As a CASAC Counselor at Vertex LLC, you will employ evidence-based approaches to guide participants through the recovery process, focusing on improving their health, wellness, family connections, and socio-economic engagement. You will utilize trauma-informed care to create personalized treatment plans and support each participant's journey through various stages of recovery. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: • Orient participants to the available services, detailing program objectives and providing ongoing support and educational materials. • Engage participants through Evidence-Based Practices, including Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. • Deliver high-quality Telehealth and in-person individual and group sessions. • Document progress and engage continuously with participants to support their recovery goals. • Implement person-centered counseling, including crisis intervention, individual sessions, group support, and case management. • Facilitate psychoeducation regarding the use of Medication Assisted Treatment and maintain care continuity. • Promote adaptive coping and problem-solving skills through alternative solutions and enhanced decision-making abilities. • Educate participants on addiction and its impacts, tailoring interventions to individual needs. • Maintain liaison with external agencies for additional services or referrals. • Manage and report toxicology testing processes to ensure clarity and compliance. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Must have OASAS certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC or CASAC-T). • Proficiency in both Google and Microsoft Suite. • Experience with DHS and EHR preferred. • Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred, however, not necessary. Compensation: $40,000 - $58,000
