    Job Description

WHAT WE NEED Cascade Bicycle Club is seeking a bicycling visionary who recognizes the impact a strong bicycling community can have for youth of color to serve as the next PROGRAM MANAGER - MAJOR TAYLOR PROJECT. The Major Taylor Project (MTP) Manager is a galvanizer and youth advocate. The MTP Manager develops the vision for the program while inspiring the community to contribute to its success. The MTP Manager is also a diligent program manager who demonstrates the importance of safety, organization, and communication to successful youth programming implementation. ABOUT THE MAJOR TAYLOR PROJECT The Major Taylor Project is dedicated to using the bicycle as a vehicle for empowerment, exercise, and exploration for youth of color.

Through partnerships with school districts, parks departments, and other community organizations, we foster afterschool bike riding clubs at schools in which they are needed most. We use free and reduced lunch rates and school district and community recommendations for identifying where we will work to establish a bike club.

Over the course of a school year, youth engaged in bike clubs are introduced to a variety of challenges to expand their cycling skills, grow their endurance, and bond with their peers. In a typical year, students will have the opportunity to race cyclocross, build their own bicycle, and ride from Seattle to Portland on Cascade's flagship ride: STP.

WHO WE ARE Together, Cascade and Washington Bikes envision a safe and healthy future where bicycles bring people together, eliminate inequity, and create thriving communities. Our organization values are equity, climate justice, community, safety, and collaboration.
