    Assistant General Manager

    The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madison East is now accepting applications for a full-time Assistant General Manager.

    Job Description:

    Assist General Manager in managing day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel by providing leadership and direction by maximizing financial returns, driving the development of people, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community. Will be responsible for all functions of all hotel personal and manage direct reports that supervise Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Act in the capacity of General Manager in his/her absence.

    • Ability to perform all hotel duties to include: Guest Services (front desk, shuttle van driver), food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.

    • Assists the General Manager in directing and overseeing all operational activities and departments in the hotel to maximize revenue and deliver a positive experience and exceptional customer service for the guests.

    • Ensures that all policies, procedures, with regard to personnel, security, cash handling, guest relations and safety are followed.

    • Lead by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.

    • Reviews the manager on duty logbook for all shifts and ensures that any and all issues are addressed and documented.

    • Schedule is dictated by staff and property needs, including nights and/or weekends. AGM is responsible for covering any shifts due to call-offs.

    • Adheres to all company standards, policies and procedures.

    • Assists in any areas of the hotel as needed.

    • Work in conjunction with General Manager to ensure proper coverage and support for the manager on duty.

    Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent and a post-secondary degree.

    • Above average written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in the predominant business language, English.

    • Reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License.

    • Must be able to direct, motivate, train, and develop subordinates.

    • Able to take direction.

    • Must have prior hotel operations experience

    • Microsoft, Windows, and PC experience required.

    • Neat, clean appearance.

    • Compatible with a wide range of people.

    • Needs to be thorough, reliable, responsible, honest, organized, flexible, and be service orientated.
