    Position Overview:
    We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Case Manager / Special Education Teacher to join our team. Reporting to the School Principal and Director of Specialized Services, this role is essential in delivering a rigorous and compliant education for students with disabilities. You will work closely with the Specialized Services Team to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that drive student achievement. This role involves collaborating with staff, students, and families to ensure tailored support, as well as maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

    • Mastery of academic subjects and behavioral interventions.
    • 2-5 years of teaching experience in an urban setting.
    • Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher Certification.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

    Case Management Responsibilities (40-80%):

    • Create and manage timelines for all annual reviews and evaluations, ensuring compliance with IDEA.
    • Provide timely family notifications for conferences, and coordinate all FIEs/IEPs/BIPs/504s.
    • Monitor IEP service implementation, accommodations, and progress.
    • Oversee the special education referral process and support MTSS implementation.
    • Obtain and coordinate services for new students with existing IEPs.
    • Ensure IEPs are rigorous, measurable, and compliant with federal and state laws.
    • Collaborate regularly with school leaders to improve special education programs.
    • Support staff by ensuring understanding and confidentiality around IEPs, 504s, and BIPs.
    • Maintain and manage special education files and attend special education meetings.

    Teaching Responsibilities (20-60%):

    • Set ambitious goals for student achievement and character development.
    • Adapt and implement curricular activities aligned with academic standards.
    • Design and use assessments to track student progress and inform instruction.
    • Foster a disciplined and engaging classroom environment.
    • Collaborate with peers to promote a warm, achievement-focused culture.
    • Uphold core values, high expectations, and a strict code of conduct.
    • Model and encourage positive student behaviors, including respect, responsibility, and perseverance.
    • Prepare students for success at the next academic level.
    • Participate in mandatory summer training (starting August 1) to prepare for the school year.
