    Position Summary:

    The Scaling Operator is responsible for accurately measuring and weighing ingredients, raw materials, and finished products in our food production process. This role ensures that all materials are scaled properly, and that quality standards are met while maintaining the efficiency and safety of the operation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled in operating measurement equipment, and dedicated to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.

    Scheduled hours for this 1st shift position are 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The pay rate starts at $20.00/hr.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Weighing & Scaling:

    • Accurately weigh and measure ingredients and materials according to production formulas and specifications.
    • Operate and calibrate industrial scales and automated dispensing equipment to ensure precise material quantities.

    Quality Control:

    • Perform routine checks on materials and ingredients to ensure they meet quality and weight specifications.
    • Report any discrepancies or quality issues to supervisors and the quality control team.

    Equipment Maintenance:

    • Regularly inspect and maintain weighing equipment to ensure operational efficiency and accurate readings.
    • Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs on scales and dispensing machinery when necessary.

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies.
    • Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment in line with facility standards.

    Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and organized records of measurements, materials used, and production data.
    • Document any adjustments or deviations from standard procedures to ensure proper traceability.

    Collaboration:

    • Work closely with production and packaging teams to support the smooth flow of materials through the manufacturing process.
    • Assist in other production-related tasks as required, including material handling and packaging line support.

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
    • Ability to operate and troubleshoot industrial weighing and measuring equipment.
    • Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurement and quantity calculation.
    • Good communication skills, with the ability to report data clearly and effectively.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet production goals.
    • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards in food production.

    Education & Experience:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is preferred. Experience with scales or automated dispensing systems is a plus.
    • Certifications: Forklift certification (if applicable) and any relevant food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP) are a plus.

    Work Environment:

    Production facility setting.

    • Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
    • Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
    • Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently.
    • Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
