Job Description
Position Summary & Objective
Assemble and disassemble large pieces of steel equipment. Assembles and fits components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position ****
Able to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
Able to read and understanding of ID/OD Micrometers, Calibers, radius gages, parallels, and Telescopic measures. Proficient in using a variety of in process inspection equipment and assembly tools. Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
Must be able to work with solvents and paints and how to apply them in a proper manner.
Shot blast and paint.
Capable of using a drill press to tap/drill holes per the layout.
Knowledge of piping and tubing for lube and hydraulic process required for disassembly.
Able to mechanically use overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
Ability to work with grease and grime under relatively adverse physical conditions.
Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolts, screws, dowels, using hand tools, or arranges for assembly by welder and electrician.
Removes high spots, and smoots surfaces, using chisels, scrapers, files, and powered hand grinder. Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
Form, bend and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air, water, and oil. May bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems.
Work as member of team in the part of fabrication process.
Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments, such as dial indicators and thickness gauges.
Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement and operation of assembly by hand. Test or assist in testing operation of completed product.
Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
Mounts and connects auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment, cuts and fits pipe and tubing.
Test or assist in testing operation of completed product.
Ability to verbally communicate with team members, supervisors, and Engineers.
Must have good safety awareness techniques.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent.
5 years mechanical assembly and disassembly experience.
