Job description
Trexis Insurance is recruiting for a full-time Casualty Claims Adjuster for our Franklin,TN office. This experienced adjuster investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles moderate to complex auto claims with the highest exposures under minimal supervision. Duties include investigation; determination and evaluation of coverage, liability, and damages; and the setting of proper reserves. The Casualty Adjuster sets customer expectations, communicates timelines for investigation and explains applicable laws and coverages.
Essential Responsibilities:
Proactively investigate coverage, liability and damages. They will seek out all medical documentation to evaluate and settle or deny injury claims where appropriate. Adequate reserves will be set and re-evaluated regularly.
Maintain an acceptable quality of work based on objective measurements and evaluated by the manager and regular audits performed by the Department Audit Team.
Individual results by venue will be compared against prior results and current peer results in the same venue.
Representatives will be called upon to help teammates on occasion. They will also be judged on the average BI/UMBI payments for the Casualty and Litigation Units based on metrics.
Maintain a current, accurate working knowledge of all venues for the states handled. This person will be required to bring all requests for BI settlement authority over 10K to Claim Committee. Their expertise and professionalism will be shown through file documentation and preparation of files for discussion with management and/or at Claim Committee.
Proactive File Management.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
College degree or commensurate work experience required.
Minimum of 2 years of handling injury claims experience.
Medical terminology aptitude.
Must have strong adjusting and negotiation skills
Must have demonstrated competence as a Senior Claims Adjuster.
Oral and written communication skills to quickly build rapport.
Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of best practices and processes.
Effective team player.
Must be well versed in tort laws for all states we do business in as well as expertise with the Department of Insurance regulations and their Fair Claims Practice Act. Compliance to both State and Federal Regulations.
