OVERVIEW: The food service worker is responsible for the day-to-day preparation, cooking, packaging, and serving of food in Cataloochee’s Lodge Cafeteria. A food service worker will be expected to deal directly with the public on a daily basis. The food service worker participates in the day-to-day cleaning of the building, restrooms, and outside areas of the ski area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain health, sanitation, and safety standards in all work areas.

Operate large volume cook equipment such as grills, ovens, deep fat fryers, tilt pot

Verify prepared food meets required quality and quantity

Present a clean, neat appearance

Wash dishes using a commercial dishwasher and washing by hand

Focus on safety and safe food practices in the kitchen

Familiar with and proactive in adhering to North Carolina Food Codes

Clean all public areas in all occupied buildings

Clean all restrooms on property

Empty all trash and recycling receptacles in public areas and carry to designated containers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able and willing to work a varied schedule (weekend, holidays and nights)

Must be willing to report to work at scheduled time

Must be willing to report to work as scheduled despite inclement weather

Must be able to physically move throughout the resort comfortably and quickly

Must be able to stand for a long period of time

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
