Job Summary/Overview
The Terrain Park Staff is responsible for ensuring all terrain park features are consistently maintained to provide an enjoyable and dynamic experience for our guests. The primary goal of this position is to deliver the best possible terrain park experience by maintaining high-quality, well-shaped features on a daily basis. In addition, this role involves educating park users on proper terrain park etiquette and maintaining the atmosphere through appropriate signage, fencing, banners, and positive engagement. As a customer-focused team, each employee plays a vital role in attracting and retaining guests, ensuring they leave with unforgettable memories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily examination and maintenance of all park features to reduce risk by eliminating hazards to terrain park users.
Responsible for laborer duties during terrain park construction; shoveling, lifting, raking, digging.
Keeping signage visible in the parks.
Responsible for the completion of all terrain park related forms; including but not limited to: Build Map(s), Daily Terrain Park Opening Report(s), Terrain Park Feature Placement Map(s), Terrain Park Groomer Nightly Report(s), Post Incident Reopening Form(s), Terrain Park Staff Incident Comment form. As well as, any company equipment or vehicle forms.
Required to interact and educate guests on terrain park etiquette, actively promote Park Smart.
Monitoring and maintaining the designated music, fencing, banners, and signage.
Complete Park Report daily.
Responsible for monitoring all features for risk and closing any features that become unsafe to our guests until maintenance can be performed to reopen the feature.
Complete all end-of-the-day closing procedures of all parks and features.
Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to your immediate supervisor.
Maintaining the cleanliness in and around surrounding areas of the terrain park’s and park storage facilities.
Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
Drive in accordance with the law and Cataloochee Ski Area policies.

Basic Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to walk and physically negotiate steep and variable terrain without difficulty and assistance on a frequent basis.
Must be able to withstand extreme winter weather conditions.
May require lifting of 50 lbs or more.
May include: climbing, hiking, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, standing
Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate via radios and telephones.
The employee is required to rake and shovel frequently.
Must be able to ski/snowboard all terrain on the mountain and possess freestyle skills.
Must be able to work weekend and holiday shifts.
The evening shift is usually completed by 10:30pm but will require staying until the job is completed.
