SUMMARY:
Carter Creek Winery Resort and Spa is looking for a Catering Sales & Service Manager to handle social & wedding sales operations to ensure the attainment of resort revenue, profit, and customer satisfaction goals; negotiate social and wedding business and coordinate the execution of the business with other departments; and prospect for new business while maintaining existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals that have been outlined by management. Sell and solicit new and repeat catering business (including the social and wedding markets).
Communication with clients before program/event to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions
Perform pre-function activities such as on-site tours, menu tasting/planning sessions, Banquet Event Orders, estimates, and diagrams.
Plan, upsell, and coordinate all details with each client.
Work with the client directly to form Banquet Event Orders within the guidelines of the resort's policies and procedures allowing the group to accomplish their goals.
Communicate function arrangements to all responsible resort departments.
Coordinate with client’s contracted vendors (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.)
Build and Maintain relationships with event vendors.
Attend all required internal meetings and required training.
Meet all internal deadlines for completing paperwork and follow procedures for pop-ups, revisions, etc.
Maintain professional composure in high-stress situations to make last-minute changes, and develop strong and concise written and oral communication with other departments.
Be present on-site during each event to ensure proper event set-up and satisfaction of client which may involve nights and weekends.
Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Maintain confidentiality and currency of client files.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends and bring new ideas to the resort.
Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
2-5 years of experience as a Catering Sales Manager, and or like experience in wedding or event planning
Superb communication skills both verbally, and via email are required
Access, input and retrieve information from the computer, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Delphi/Saleforce Knowledge is preferred
Must have a neat and pleasant overall appearance

SCHEDULE:
Typically Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, with some weekends and holidays.
Possible weekends for events and site visits.
