Catering Server
Department/Location: Sun Prairie
Reporting To: Catering Manager, Catering Lead

Job Summary
A catering server focuses on executing specific tasks during events as directed by the catering lead. Their role is hands-on and service-oriented, ensuring that guests have an excellent dining experience. Catering servers are expected to provide professional, efficient, and friendly service while upholding the company’s values and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Setup
Assist in setting up tables, buffets, and service areas as instructed by the lead.
Ensure catering equipment (coolers, catering boxes, etc.) is clean and properly stored.
Participate in table and buffet setup, including arranging dining and service areas.
Food and Beverage Service
Serve food and beverages to guests professionally and efficiently.
Monitor food stations to ensure they remain stocked and clean.
Deliver food via plated meal service, buffet setups, and passed or stationary appetizers.
Guest Interaction
Provide attentive and courteous service to guests.
Respond to guest needs and requests promptly.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the catering venue and catering vehicles.
Bussing and Resetting Tables
Maintain guests’ needs by removing dishware and refilling beverages.
Clear tables and transport dishware to the designated catering kitchen.
Unload and properly store dishes in the catering kitchen.
Clean-Up
Assist with clearing dishes, breaking down setups, and packing equipment post-event.
Unpack and wash dishes at the warehouse after events.
Sweep, mop, polish silverware, glassware, and clean additional catering items as needed.
Support the Lead
Follow instructions from the catering lead and communicate any guest concerns or issues encountered.
Communicate effectively with the lead, allowing them to interact with guests and chefs as needed.

Must be at least 16 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is appreciated but not mandatory.
Education and Experience
Prior hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
Must be available to work a minimum of 10-12 weekend shifts during peak catering season (especially Friday and Saturday evenings from May through October).
Working Conditions
Active work, spending hours standing and walking, exerting up to 25-40 lbs. of force.
Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 lbs.
Ability to climb in and off large vehicles.
Ability to see at a distance (20 feet), at close range (12 inches), distinguish between shapes, and utilize peripheral vision.
Ability to hear and respond to verbal communications.
Capability to read, write, and perform basic addition/subtraction calculations.
Physical ability to bend, handle, carry, lift, reach, wipe, climb, and stoop.
Walk and stand for up to eight (8) hours regularly and occasionally up to 12 hours.
