Cattle Embryologist / OPU Technician– Your Job Duties

You will work directly with cattle on-site on the farm, supporting bovine embryo production. You will:

• Perform non-surgical embryo transfers of bovine embryos for the purpose of inducing pregnancy
• Perform non-surgical Embryo insertions in cattle
• Harvest (aspirate and extract) oocytes from cattle (OPU)
• Assemble and maintain embryo manipulation equipment and tools
• Schedule synchronization with customers and help implement synchronization protocols for recipients
• Communicate transfer data and outcomes with our lab and the client farm

You will work both on the farm outdoors (including in covered areas) and in a mobile lab on site.

Cattle Embryologist / OPU Technician\- You Have (Required):

• You have prior experience in ovum pickup / embryo or oocyte harvest (OPU) in animals (cow, sheep, horse)
• Prior experience working as a veterinary technician or veterinary lab technician
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, work outdoors, work directly with cattle including manipulating the bovine reproductive tract
• Ability to work in Woodland, California on site

Cattle Embryologist / OPU Technician– You Might Have (Desired, Not Required)

• You might have prior experience working with bovine / cows
• Education in embryology research, andrology and embryology techniques, vitrification and warming, ICSI, biopsy, embryo grading, DVM
• You might speak Spanish

Compensation $70,000 - $80,000 base salary depending on years of experience.
