    Celebrations Speech Group is hiring a passionate, committed in-person Mental Health Counselor to join our team for a school-based assignment in Oakland/Richmond, CA. As a Mental Health Counselor, you'll play a critical role in helping high school students that are struggling academically, with social/mental health matters to reach their full potential. You will provide vital consultation services to the scholars and empower the school staff to support the overall mental health goals of the school, and ultimately, contribute to overall student success & personal wellbeing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide group counseling or 1-on-1 direct services to scholars, including, but not limited to, individual student planning, crisis intervention, IEP development and management, system support and accountability.

    • Managing, tracking, and documenting student interactions and counseling schedule

    • Conduct comprehensive behavior assessments to determine the complex needs of individuals with behavior challenges.

    • Working directly with students to help them successfully work towards high school graduation, college matriculation and self-sufficiency;

    • Develop and oversee behavior intervention plans for assigned caseloads

    • Monitor skill acquisition programming and provide training to enhance treatment outcomes for assigned caseload

    • Implement direct behavior service minutes and consultation for qualified students according to the IEP.

    • Provide training and ongoing support to clients, families, and educational teams on the use of mental health strategies.

    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to each student's goals.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications:

    • REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree,

      • Preferred: Graduate level Degree in Counseling

    • Current, or in-progress Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential valid in the state of CA issued by the California CTC.

    • Understanding of ACSA Counseling standards

    • At least two years of school counseling experience

      • Preferred: extensive experience working in urban charter school settings

    • Experience training school staff and parents

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills and the ability to work as a collaborative and supportive team member

    • Ability to build rapport with staff.

    • Positive and collaborative demeanor.
