    Position Summary Under the general direction of the Early Care and Education Coordinator, has primary responsibility for the daily oversight of center operations, including assurance of compliance with minimum standards and standards established to assure high-quality early childhood services. This position has oversight of a team of staff (infant and toddler caregivers, teachers, teacher assistants, floaters, bus drivers, assistant site supervisor, administrative assistant, family advocates, cooks, and substitute pool) and facility management assuring the compliance with all funding source mandates, all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and assures standards of excellence including the Head Start Performance Standards are met. This position supports the development of the center structure, management systems, plans, policies and procedures. Core Responsibilities In addition, this position has the responsibility for supporting the Early Care and Education Coordinator with the administration, fiscal, legal, and center oversight for all within the program. It bears the responsibility of assuring that all classrooms are strategically positioned for future growth which allows the program to continue to support the agency to fulfill its mission. This position also assists with determining eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of Early Head Start eligible children and families, including pregnant woman in accordance to the performance standards to support all Early Childhood programs. Working Conditions

    1. Primarily an office position with various state or national travel (as deemed necessary or appropriate); noise level is usually moderate; sitting for long periods of time.
    2. Regular and reliable attendance required.
    3. Should have a current and valid driver’s license for on the job usage related to job functions. Page 2 of 4 Supervisory Relationships • Directly supervises infant and toddler caregivers, teachers, teacher assistants, floaters, bus drivers, assistant site supervisor, administrative assistant, family advocates, cooks, and substitute pool within the GETCAP-HS/EHS early childhood services program. • In a supervisory role follow staff disciplinary processes, plans, policies, and procedures in accordance with the organization and program policy and procedures Minimum Job Requirements Knowledge and Skills: • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and delegate responsibilities effectively to get the job done • Ability to make decisions that are regulatory on organizational, federal, state, and local policy constraints, but occasionally requires independent decisionmaking as directed • Excellent written, verbal and computer skills are required • Frequently faces deadlines with attention to detail and must complete tasks in a timely and effective manner • Knowledge and skills in Head Start system and services, adult learning styles, and coaching strategies • Must gather and analyze data and regulatory material and make presentations to inform and educate staff, parents, and outside agencies utilizing variable methods • Strong management, organizational, problem solving skills, time management skills, and positive interpersonal communication Position Qualifications: • 2 to 5 years of management and supervisory experience and Direct/Related experience in an Early Childhood Education program or a Head Start program is preferred • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood, Child development, Child Social Work Special Education or Social Science field is required. A master’s degree in similar fields are preferred • Criminal Background and finger print clearance • Experiencing in managing organizational and programmatic experience in organizing and development, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience • Must adhere to Child Abuse Registry check and report child abuse/neglect according to agency procedures and the Ohio Revised Code Section 2151.421 • Must adhere to confidentiality standards, IDEA, and HIPPA laws • Possess current First Aid and CPR cards with infant/child CPR Page 3 of 4 • Working knowledge of early childhood development including social/emotional development in early childhood and human services and supports and best practices Physical Requirements: • To comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), which prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals on the basis of disability, it is necessary to specify the physical, mental and environmental conditions of the Essential Duties of the job • The following codes are used to explain the frequency of physical activity: o "F" for frequently; "O" for occasionally; "N" for not at all; On the job the employee must be able to carry/lift loads of: ▪ (F) Light (up to 25lbs.), (N) Moderate (25-50lbs.), (N) Heavy (over 50lbs.) o On the job the employee must: ▪ (F) Bend, Sit, Squat and Kneel, ▪ (F) Stand, Walk, Climb, and Push/Pull ▪ (F) Handle objects (Manual Dexterity) ▪ (F) Reach above shoulder level, and Use fine finger movements ▪ (F) Talk and hear when working with officials, managers, colleagues, peers on the telephone or in person ▪ (F) Specific vision abilities including close vision and distant vision ▪ (O) Crawl • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, which work requires bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and pulling throughout the day • To carry out this job an individual must be able to perform all essential and major functions of the job satisfactorily, however reasonable accommodations may be made to enable any qualified person with disabilities to perform essential functions of the job Other/Special Requirements: • 40 hours work week, generally Monday – Friday, with some evening/weekend work required; regular attendance required • Primarily an office position with various state or national travel (as deemed necessary or appropriate; exposure to normal travel or traffic hazards) • Should have a current and valid driver’s license for on the job usage related to job functions
