ABOUT US:
Century Trucks & Vans is a dealership geared toward the light duty commercial market. We sell used trucks and vans and normally maintain 400+ vehicles in stock. We advertise heavily to generate new customers and strive for customer retention. We are family owned and operated for 40 years. Our hours of operation are 8:30 to 6:00 Monday to Friday and 9:00 to 4:00 on Saturdays and we are a smoke free environment. Our sales facility is sharp and kept in immaculate condition as it is a source of pride for us. We are in the final stages of construction on our new 7-acre service and aftermarket upfit facility which will provide a state of the art, manufacturer alternative service solution for our customers as well as our own fleet. ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is not a conventional sales manager’s position you would find at a franchise dealership. We seek a leader who will not only inspire our 10-person professional sales force to produce but also to advocate for them. We have great policies and procedures that keep everyone on the right track but we are missing the finesse and accountability that comes with the right person covering the sales floor. A helpful analogy would be to think of this position as something similar to an air traffic controller. The pilots know how to fly the planes, but they need the controller to track all of them and efficiently direct traffic in the safest manner. This position will be trained by ownership and has enormous potential for growth. Here are a few examples of what this position will be responsible for:
As for compensation, our ultimate goal is finding the right person so we are not limiting ourselves by budget. If you believe you have everything we need, come and talk to us. The compensation will depend entirely on your capabilities and qualifications. In addition, a health care plan and a savings incentive match plan(simple IRA) are available after 90 days of employment.
ABOUT YOU:
When it comes to working with our staff, we need a person who prefers to be involved and “lead the charge” rather than bark orders from behind the lines. Our staff is very experienced so a person that can maintain accountability in the sales force without weakening their motivation is key. We need someone that is diplomatic and fair minded in their dealings with people in general.
Sales, sales management and CRM experience are all massive advantages but not necessarily requirements. Do not rule yourself out if you believe you are an excellent manager. Century is very straight forward and transparent so we have the ability to train the right person in the specifics of our dealership and our way of selling.
