Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with clients in the healthcare industry and other personal service industries to determine the best tax-saving and bookkeeping strategies
- Manage all projects in the tax and bookkeeping department and workflow for team members
- Handle client communications through the use of portal messaging, telephone, and video conferencing
- Prepare complex individual and business returns, mostly 1065, 1120S; some 1120 with multiple states
- Review basic and medium complexity individual returns with multiple states
- Review bookkeeping and assist bookkeepers with maintaining clean books
- Prepare tax projections
- Respond to IRS and state notices
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA in Accounting or related field
- 10+ yrs experience
- Recent work experience in a public accounting firm environment, working with multiple clients.
- EA or CPA preferred
- Must have 2 - 3 seasons reviewing complex individual returns.
- Knowledge of tax compliance for medical professionals - nice to have
- Good financial accounting background and solid understanding of financial statements
- Experience using UltraTax and QBO, preferred
- Very good communication skills
