Job Summary Do you want to put a smile on a child's face? Do you want to improve the health of your community? As a Certified Community Health Worker you will touch every aspect of our work developing a vast array of skills. You will provide assistance in our school clinics, teach children in their classrooms, and organized your assigned schools for services. We will offer a variety of training and experience to develop your community health career. Every week you will be out in our community, meeting with school partners, delivering education and oral health care, and managing the logistics of the partnerships. Work is in person, either at our office or on site with our partners.
Responsibilities
Community outreach: Attend 2 after school events each month Serve as the liaison and organizer to assigned schools
Classroom education: Teach our oral health curriculum in a classroom setting
Clinical services: Prepare supplies and equipment for upcoming clinic Work as a team with other CHWs and dental providers to provide dental services Record exam/treatment in our software Support post clinic processes
Administrative services: Maintain connections with parents/caregivers and low-cost dental clinics Assist with scanning consent forms to NESS and Open Dental (cloud-based systems) Help maintain counts for grant information resource Record all patient care management information and contacts in NESS Enroll patients
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Community Health Worker Certificate
High school diploma or GED
Fluent in verbal and written English
Strong computer and data entry skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to provide high-quality patient care
Transportation/driver's license required
PREFERRED
Lived experience and understanding of the community served by RSS
Experience or demonstrated interest in working in healthcare
Fluent in Karen, Spanish, Hmong, or Somali
Associate's or Bachelor's degree
