    DUI Program Counselor

    Position Type: Counselor Part-Time Reports to: DUI Program Director

    Salary: $19.00 - $ 22.00 Per Hour Estimated Start Date: Immediately

    Neighborhood House of North Richmond’s (NHNR) mission is to improve the quality of life of residents of all ages in North Richmond and surrounding communities. NHNR complies with all federal and state employment laws.

    Position Description: Under general supervision, facilitates prevention education classes, group sessions, and individual counseling for DUI Program participants. Counselors are responsible for charting and maintaining accurate participant records in accordance with DUI Program operation guidelines and California Title 9 Regulations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Possession of valid California Motor vehicle Operators License

    Language Requirement: Bi-lingual - Spanish

    Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience counseling persons in a substance abuse program or its equivalent

    Certification Required: Must possess a certificate as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor issued by California Association of Alcohol/Drug Education (CAADE), California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP), or California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).

    Primary Responsibilities: (MAY INCLUDE ALL OR PART OF THE DUTIES BELOW)

    Schedule clients to education and small group sessions

    Conduct enrollment, orientations, and process paperwork

    Track and document participant progress weekly

    Orientate clients on program participation requirements

    Keeping accurate charts and case files of all participants assigned

    Submit problem cases Program Director when necessary

    Facilitate education classes, group, and face-to-face sessions

    Prepare participant reinstatement worksheet and agreements

    Prepare participant program conversion worksheet agreements

    Provide participants with information regarding community resources when appropriate

    Maintains accurate client case records

    Prepares reports as required

    Participates in meetings, committees, and or training when assigned

    May act as a backup when needed to cover absent DUI Counselor

    Perform other related duties as assigned
