About Us:
All IN Pediatrics is a full service pediatric office in Southern Indiana. We have two convenient locations in southern Indiana, New Albany and Salem. We serve families from over 6 counties in Indiana and Jefferson County (Louisville) in Kentucky.
Position Overview:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support within our healthcare team. The CMA assists physicians and other healthcare providers by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to patient care, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience in the medical field with triage and vaccines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Duties:
- Obtain patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
- Maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and organized.
2. Administrative Duties:
- Handle patient intake and registration, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure patient confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
3. Patient Care:
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients regarding procedures and health management.
- Assist patients with questions and concerns related to their healthcare needs.
- Ensure a welcoming and safe environment for patients and their families.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to established healthcare protocols, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from a recognized organization (e.g., AAMA).
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and EMR systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in multitasking and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform some lifting.
- Manual dexterity for performing clinical tasks.
