    Job description

    Full Time CERTIFIED Medical Assistant

    Crown Colony Pediatrics is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant with Pediatric Office experience for a busy outpatient practice. This position is responsible for assisting with patient care, maintaining patient flow and preparing patients for the physician visit. Hours will include a mix of days/evenings and Saturdays.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    Rooming patients for both sick and well visits- taking appropriate vital signs, medication reconciliation ,health history, current symptoms as well as entering all information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record

    Assisting the physicians in the room with procedures and high priority situations

    Administers injections, vaccines, hearing and vision tests

    Obtains and processes lab specimens

    Phone triage assignments including answering patient calls, parent questions, assisting with specialist appointments, reviewing lab/imaging results appropriately and in accordance with policies and procedures

    Cleaning instruments and rooms

    Requirements:

    Experienced CERTIFIED Medical Assistant

    Experience working with Electronic Medical Records is required. The practice currently uses Epic.

    Must be compassionate and enjoy working with children

    Strong ability to multi-task and work well with others.

    Excellent customer service skills

    Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks

    Dependable and dedicated with a positive attitude

    Good communication skills

    ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a medical practice environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.

    PHYSICIAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to move charts, or sitting for extended periods of time. Must possess visual and auditory acuity in order to communicate with co-workers, patients and other customer groups. Possible exposure to chemical hazards, but is not limited to toxic hazardous substances. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
