Responsibilities: • Collect blood samples from patients and send to the lab for testing • Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office • Document the patient’s vital signs including respiration rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and pulse and write down the information in their chart • Prepare exam rooms for patients ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient and sterilize equipment • Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed • Travel between all clinic locations as needed • Triage wait times and waiting room wait times help move clinic effectively. Intervene when needed to facilitate improvement in MA efficiency • Greet all patients/families/team members with kindness, a smile and positive energy • Manage VFC program • Manage inventory • Manage MA team fannin office including ensuring coverage, monitoring productivity and adherence to work protocols, scheduling lunch breaks to ensure clinic coverage, daily delegation of tasks alongside collaboration with fellow senior/lead MA • Help employees succeed by providing guidance, support, and identifying development needs • Weekly huddles with team to achieve goals • Meet weekly with management to make sure goals and tasks are met • Audit performance of MA team • Ensure that employees are given appropriate tasks and assignments, and that they are performed when and how they should be • Help improve standards, reduce risks, and address poor performance and stress, and resolve conflicts in the workplace • Perform yearly employee evaluations to review employees performance and provide feedback to set goals and opportunities for development growth • Stock and maintain supplies in exam rooms by delegating to other MA and being accountable to this as lead • Point of care strep throat, Covid, Flu tests, mono, hemoglobin, urine tests • Handling daily messages and prescription requests • Assists in resolving clinical challenges and patient concerns • Ensures daily opening and close of clinic • Redistribution of staff workload in case of scheduled/unscheduled absences • Manage patient intake processes, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, adhering to health and safety regulations • Participate in training and mentoring junior medical assistants, sharing knowledge of systems used within the clinic Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED • Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment • Solid communication and customer service skills • Must have completed an accredited medical assisting program and a supervised externship in a healthcare setting • Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks Requirements • 7 years medical assistant experience • Ability to administer medications safely and effectively under supervision • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative in individual responsibilities • Certification as a Medical Assistant Join us in making a difference in the lives of our patients while advancing your career in a supportive healthcare environment!
