We are looking to hire for a full time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The certified medical assistant will support healthcare providers and ensure the smooth operation of a medical practice or clinic in Saint Louis, Missouri. Hours include 12 hour shifts per day, ability to work 6pm - 2am or 11am - 11pm. The role involves both administrative and clinical duties to provide high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service.
** Key Responsibilities**
1. Patient Care
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations, interviews, and procedures.
- Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and assist with patient assessments.
- Assist healthcare providers in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and point-of-care testing as required.
2. Administrative Duties
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and referrals.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and update patient information accurately.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with billing and coding.
- Answer phones, handle inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure equipment is in working order.
3. Medical Assistance
- Prepare and administer medications with proper documentation.
- Assist with minor office procedures and surgical interventions.
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with patient education and provide appropriate resources.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Communicate important patient information to healthcare providers.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards and ensure patient confidentiality.
- Participate in training sessions and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Stay informed about changes in medical regulations and compliance requirements.
