    Position Overview:

    We are looking for a skilled and compassionate PRN Medical Interpreter to facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients who speak different languages. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of medical terminology, a commitment to patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations, and a passion for ensuring patients receive clear and accurate information about their healthcare. This role is critical in improving the quality of care by breaking down language barriers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide accurate and culturally sensitive translations for patients and healthcare providers in medical, mental health, and administrative settings.
    • Interpret for patients and their families in health departments or home visits, ensuring clear communication about medical updates and procedures.
    • Research medical terminology to ensure accurate and precise interpretations.
    • Be available to serve all seven locations and district departments as needed.
    • Exercise excellent communication skills while maintaining sensitivity, patience, and confidentiality in stressful or challenging situations.
    • Demonstrate awareness of cultural differences and respect for diverse communication styles.
    • Maintain verifiable certification from an accredited medical interpreter school or program.
    • Apply a solid understanding of medical terminology in interpreting conversations.

    Qualifications:

    • Certification in Medical Interpreting from an accredited institution (Required).
    • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Spanish language proficiency (Required).
    • Ability to work in person Day Shift at the assigned location. Relocation Required before starting work.
