Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Certified Midwife in OB/GYN at Bellevue Hospital/Clinic.

In this role, the successful candidate will work with Maternal Fetal Medicine and General Obstetrics and Gynecology specialists in a private outpatient office of the NYU Department of Obs/Gyn Performs comprehensive history and physical examinations obtains pertinent patient medical information record medical information in electronic medical record format and provides accurate and sensitive patient counseling and follows up of care Works closely with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division in the care of women carrying high risk complicated pregnancies and assists in the arrangement of multidisciplinary approaches to these complicated pregnancies

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide family centered midwifery care to patients in the context of group practice The expectations of the practice are as follows: Clinical Competence
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Earn 50 CME hours per year with 25 of these Category
• Work at Bellevue Hospital under an Affiliation Agreement
• Provides feedback to the Director regarding any problems affecting the service
• Strives to improve language skills in Spanish
• Demonstrates initiative by sharing in sick call and other emergency coverage
• Participates in efforts to promote and expand our midwifery practice
• Maintains credentials at all appropriate facilities
• Checks e mail NYU and Bellevue and EPIC inbox at the start of each clinical day
• Reviews inbox queues every clinical day for lab results with timely action/patient notification
• Participates in back up call system for weekend coverage 4 weekends per year minimum
• Participates in teaching of midwifery students medical students and House Staff
• Participates in the committee work of our practice and some administrative functions
• Participates in Data Collection amp; Quality Assurance Activities
• For inpatient care: contributes to midwifery coverage at Labor amp; Delivery equitably according to FTEs
• Outpatient care: primarily prenatal and postpartum care; Gynecology and Family Planning not required
• Timeliness
• Interpersonal competence; Relates well with patients colleagues and ancillary staff Midwifery Director House Staff and Consulting Physicians
• Two year commitment with 12 weeks notice and completion of published schedule commitments

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications: NYS Midwife license required 1 3 years clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience in working in a labor and delivery suite or high risk pregnancy practice and in contraception well woman care and menstrual irregularities

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $118,614.00 - $159,571.38 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
