This position is located in our Remarkable Hospice Dallas location.
Job Summary:
The CNA will provide essential care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and working closely with the nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care. **

Essential Functions:
• Patient Care:
o Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
o Provide mobility assistance, including help with walking, transferring, and positioning.
o Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, turning patients, and providing adequate hydration and nourishment.
• Medical Assistance:
o Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any changes to the nursing staff.
o Assist with basic medical procedures under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
o Collect specimens for lab tests as directed.
• Observation and Reporting:
o Monitor and document patient condition and care provided in medical records.
o Report any changes in patient status or behavior to the nursing staff promptly.
o Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Environmental Maintenance:
o Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
o Assist with the cleaning and sterilization of equipment and supplies.
o Ensure patient rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and linens.
• Team Collaboration:
o Work collaboratively with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans.
o Participate in training and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices in patient care.
o Support and assist fellow CNAs and healthcare staff as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
• Conforms to all applicable Agency policies and procedures.
• Participates actively in continuing education and in-services.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and business trade practices
• Assumes accountability for reporting incidents and complaints according to Agency policy.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
• Education:
o Must be 18 years of age
o High school diploma or equivalent
o Completion of Nursing Assistant course and certification as required by the state in which employed.
• Experience:
o One (1) year experience in a comparable job classification
• License / Certification:
o Driver’s license and proof of current auto liability insurance; no listing in the OIG Excluded Provider listing
o Has successfully completed one of the following:
A) Training program/competency eval as specified in §418.76 (b) (c) of the Medicare regulations.
B) Competency eval program that meets §418.76 (c)
C) Nurse Aide training/competency eval program approved by the state and listed in good Standing on the state nurse aide registry.
D) State Licensure program that meets requirements of §418.76
Environmental Conditions:
Works under a variety of conditions in facilities and offices; ability to work flexible schedule, ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather. Moderate noise level; tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens; moderate stress and emotional demands.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting is required. Requires ability to always handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and agency needs. Ability to travel
