Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team of healthcare professionals. The CNA will play an integral role in providing personalized and high-quality care to our patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the CNA will assist patients with activities of daily living, promote their independence, and ensure their overall comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, exceptional patience, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with the facility's established policies and procedures.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
- Take and record vital signs accurately, including temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
- Observe and report any changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans for each patient.
- Assist with mobility and ambulation, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment by regularly changing linens, emptying bedpans and urinals, and monitoring hygiene.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe and hazard-free environment for both patients and staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and comforting atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or questions.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably as a CNA.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, transferring, and positioning patients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion towards patients.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Proficient in utilizing relevant medical equipment and devices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
