    AIM has an opening for an Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Occupational Therapist Assistant, to support the Occupational Therapist in conducting therapy treatments to improve students' mobility and physical health. Their main duties include helping students perform exercises or educational treatment plans, recording a students' progress, and collecting students' medical other information related to their educational plan.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Ability to work with students and manage student behavior
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitoring a student's progress to make sure that they're successfully meeting goals in their educational plan
    • Encouraging the student during their educational experience
    • Helping students to improve their ability to learn and access the general education curriculum
    • Helping student improve their motor skills
    • Teaching students with disabilities to become more independent
    • Updating student's records for the Occupational Therapist
    • Keeping the office, treatment room, and equipment in good order
    • Teaching students, family members, or other Caregivers skills and techniques to help with the student education program.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Maintain emotional control under stress.

    • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.

    • Regular District-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, and moderate carrying.

    • May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.

    • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
