Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist in delivering quality patient care and rehabilitative services. This position is perfect for those looking for flexible work hours while making a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Occupational Therapists in the execution of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of patients.
- Conduct assessments and document patient progress, ensuring compliance with facility policies and healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and at-home exercises to promote recovery.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, ensuring all equipment and materials are used properly.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, physical therapy, and healthcare providers, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with trends in occupational therapy practice.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Louisiana.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including lifting, pushing, and assisting patients with mobility.
- CPR/BLS required.
