    Certified Pharmacy Technician

    Beta Bionics is seeking a passionate and driven Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our fast-growing startup. We're revolutionizing diabetes care with the iLet, the world's first closed-loop insulin delivery system with fully autonomous insulin dosing and no requirement to count carbs. In just our first 18 months on the market, we've experienced unprecedented growth—outpacing any other diabetes product launch! Our future looks even more exciting as we just became a public company (BBNX) and have a tremendous pipeline of future products including a patch pump and bi-hormonal system which utilizes both insulin and glucagon.

    We are standing up Beta Bionics pharmacy in Mason, Ohio where we will work with new patients to help them obtain their iLet Bionic Pancreas. While some of the job functions will be consistent with pharmacy operational norms, this position will also be exposed to non-traditional opportunities and the possibility for advancement.

    Summary/Objective:

    The Certified Pharmacy Technician will perform the daily functions of Beta Bionics pharmacy, enabling efficient and accurate customer service for prospective iLet patients. The role requires an active Certified Pharmacy Technician license and tasks specific to the license will be performed on a daily basis, including calling providers with prescriptive authority to verify, receive, and modify prescriptions verbally. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will also be the main point of contact with Beta Bionics' concierge pharmacy network, transferring prescriptions to and from partner pharmacies.

    The role requires application of in-depth technical knowledge of products, systems, and services. This position must maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry, as well as the competitive posture of the company. The Certified Pharmacy Technician must gain and maintain thorough knowledge of company products, systems, and services. This role will establish and maintain relationships with channel partners and represent the company to the customer and the customer to the company in all customer facing activities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performs daily pharmacy functions consistent with industry norms

    • Intake of electronic prescription to ensure accuracy and completion within pharmacy management system and Salesforce Health Cloud platform

    • Coordination with Beta Bionics Inside & Outside Sales Teams

    • Interface between Beta Bionics and providers' offices to obtain, modify, or verify prescriptions.

    • Ability to accurately document verbal prescriptions from healthcare providers

    • Performs inbound and outbound prescription transfers to concierge pharmacy network

    • Troubleshoots patient issues with concierge pharmacy network

    • Adheres to all Ohio State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations

    • Must maintain Certified Pharmacy Technician License throughout employment

    • Responds to direct patient inquiries as well as requests from Territory Business Managers, Clinical Diabetes Specialists, and Health Care Providers to discuss Beta Bionics products and services

    • Communicates with potential customers (by phone, email, and/or fax), and explains the operation and use of all products offered by Beta Bionics

    • Efficiently responds to advanced customer inquiries, effectively addressing and resolving patient barriers to therapy adoption through professional, ethical, and persuasive sales skills to lead the customer to action

    • Documents interactions, calls, and lead information into the customer relationship management (CRM) system in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

    • Manages calls to maximize time and effort on the job to achieve daily metrics while adhering to a specified schedule

    Required Education and Experience

    • Certified Pharmacy Technician Training and License
    • Experience verbally communicating with prescribers and accurately capturing prescriptions
    • Experience working within a pharmacy management system

    Preferred Experience and Qualifications

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet with CRM software familiarity
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing market
    • Ability to see change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaign for it when necessary

    Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment

    • This is a hybrid in pharmacy/in home position

    Physical Demands

    • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to be independently mobile. The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with co-workers
    • This position requires minimal travel depending upon business needs
    • Minimal work outside the office required

    Compensation and Benefits

    The annual base salary for this position starts at $60,000, plus an annual incentive commission target, as well as an equity grant.
