A National Union is seeking to hire a Certified Pool Operator Instructor to teach at a Las Vegas academic center. Successfully have passed the Nevada State Certification Exam, The instructor position performs skilled engineering instruction. Instructor must have knowledge of work in the installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of a variety of stationary engineering systems and equipment related to steam Boiler engineering maintenance, and in a building and-or casino.
Work Environmental Factors:
Working indoors in classrooms, offices, research, or training facilities.
Walking, standing, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing or otherwise move objects weighing up to fifty pounds.
Use tools for the trades, or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
Position type and expected hours of work:
Part Time, Employment, Monday – Friday. As a Hourly position, the workload will vary depending on the department's needs including evening and/or weekend classes.
Preferred and required education:
Facilities Engineering Technology, Associate of Science Degree or higher.
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Preferred experience of eight years of full-time, paid, boiler engineering-level experience in facilities stationary engineering systems and equipment related to stationary engineering maintenance, and in a building and-or casino.
Duties and Responsibilities for Students
The Certified Pool Operator (Instructor) will teach individuals the knowledge and skills needed for pool and spa operations. Nevada requires CPO certification for all pool operators. The instructor must be CPO certified and have pool operator management experience.
The Instructor will teach in a classroom setting public safety, public bathing codes, water chemistry, filtration and circulation, seasonal pool care, pool management strategies and requirements, energy management, calculations and testing pool water and making adjustments, maintenance and operational problems, renovating and modernization of pool facilities, and disease and accident prevention.
Ability to:
Operate and maintain high and low-pressure boilers.
Perform compression and safety tests.
Water sampling and treatment.
Conduct preventative maintenance.
Safely lift heavy tools and materials.
Follow oral and written instructions.
Keep accurate records.
Work effectively and cooperatively with administrative staff, Apprentices, Students.
Effectively utilize computer systems and software applicable to the electrical trade.
Learn the characteristics of new materials and equipment and update skills to adapt to changing technology.
