SOS Personnel is urgently hiring a SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER!
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Delaware License and Special Education Teacher Certification (K-12) in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1531
Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of special education laws and requirements
Successful completion of Praxis II exams
DESIRED EXPERIENCE (BUT NOT REQUIRED):
Elementary Education certification (preferred)
Experience in elementary education setting
Experience in creating and implementing IEPs
Data collection experience
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Effectively support caseload of student receiving special education services offering access to the general education curricula through adaptations out lined it the students IEP.
Develop and support implementation of an Individual Education Plans (IEP) based on the state and federal regulations
Creates a safe and engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
Collect and use data to monitor progress of student’s goals
Collaborate with general education teacher to provide access to content standards and materials for student receiving special education services
Effectively plan and organize and implement instructional practices by collaborating with the general education
Provide individualized and small group instruction using research based best practices
Provide equitable access for students with disabilities through instructional and behavioral supports
Remain up to date with best practices for creating and implementing IEPs
Maintain an open line of communication with families about student progress on a regular basis
Performs other duties as assigned

Favorable Criminal Background Check - Must be less than 1 year old
Child Abuse Registry Check - Must be less than 1 year old
Tuberculin Test
Copy of Social Security Card - required by the State of Delaware
