The CADC is responsible for providing confidential addiction counseling, education, and support to individuals one on one or in a group setting and to engage the community by promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy choices.
Responsibilities:
Provide initial assessments and drug screenings
knowledge of drugs and withdrawal signs and symptoms
Referral to the appropriate level of care
Provide drug and alcohol counseling and support to individuals
Accept referrals from agencies, individuals, and families in the community and collaborate for individualized care
Maintain accurate, compliant client records according to policy and procedures
Understanding of strict confidentiality guidelines regarding client care
Duties:
Assist individuals in identifying their need for treatment
Understand the levels of care and necessary interventions for safety
Collaborate with the treatment team
Assist clients in meeting all requirements of their care
Develop and maintain open communication will all facility staff.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment program and communicate needs, progress, and barriers
Willing participant in agency and community committees
Must have proficient knowledge of the following:
The cause and effect of drugs and alcohol Needs and risk assessment Family dynamics
Impact of Trauma Crisis Management Case Management Individual, group, and crisis counseling methods
Cultural competency
Understanding of possible withdrawal and having a sense of urgency when referring to a higher level of care.
