Director of Golf and Recreation
The role of the Ropes Course Attendant is to assist with the daily operations of the High Ropes Course facilitating a safe and one-of-a-kind guest experience.
Qualifications
Provide safety briefings and equipment instruction to guests prior to them entering the course.
Ensure proper set up, take down, and daily safety checks of all course elements.
Ensure customers are following all established safety standards and park rules.
Provide great customer service.
May assist with handling money and associated paperwork.
Assist with routine maintenance/repair of equipment.
Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies including performing rescues on the climbing course.
Administer first aid to injured patrons.
Assist with maintaining record logs on inspections, employee training, visitation, and injury.
Report unsafe conditions to the Ropes Course Supervisors, or Golf and Recreation Director
Additional duties as assigned by the Ropes Course Supervisors, or Golf and Recreation Director
Assist with bike rentals, disc golf rentals, and other recreational activities at Stables Saloon Recreation area.
Performing thorough safety checks on all ropes course equipment before each use.
Enforcing all safety rules and regulations, including proper harnessing and belaying techniques.
Identifying and addressing potential hazards on the course.
Responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, including participant falls and medical situations.
Participant Guidance:
Providing clear and detailed instructions on the proper use of equipment and course navigation.
Assessing participants' abilities and tailoring instruction accordingly.
Offering encouragement and support to participants throughout the course, especially when facing challenges.
Facilitating team-building activities and group dynamics on the course.
Operational Duties:
Setting up and taking down the ropes course elements as needed.
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Communicating effectively with other staff members and supervisors.
Completing necessary paperwork and documentation related to participant information and safety logs.
Required Skills
Physical Fitness:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, stand for extended periods, and have good balance and coordination.
Technical Skills:
Thorough understanding of ropes course safety procedures, equipment operation, and rescue techniques.
Certifications:
Certified Ropes Course Instructor or ability to obtain certification
First Aid and CPR Certification or ability to attain certification
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum age of 18 years.
Comfortable with heights.
Successful completion of High Ropes Course training annually.
Certification or ability to obtain certification in First Aid and CPR.
Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately.
Working knowledge of computers.
Ability to learn the operation of the facility and to obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks.
Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays.
Possession or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license, must maintain a safe driving record.
Required to wear standard uniform.
Leadership Abilities:
Confidence in leading groups, making decisions in high-pressure situations, and managing participant behavior.
Customer Service Focus:
Ability to provide a positive and supportive experience for all participants.
