Position Overview:
The Charge Nurse oversees daily patient care operations in a state-operated hospital facility, ensuring safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical standards. This leadership role involves coordinating staff assignments, administering treatments, developing care plans, and responding to emergencies while mentoring support staff and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited college.
- Licensure: Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license; CPR certification required.
- Experience: Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR), MS Office, and clinical documentation.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, patient advocacy, crisis management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize, organize, and delegate daily patient care assignments.
- Administer medications, treatments, and supervise support staff in medication administration.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Document patient conditions, clinical observations, and transfer forms accurately.
- Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and treatment goals.
- Respond to emergencies, including de-escalating agitated patients.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and facility protocols.
- Mentor staff, provide unit orientation, and support workflow coordination.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to refine care processes and improve outcomes.
